THE ZELLIGE The ground, the base of the walls, the archways and the staircases are decorated with squares of mosaic, the ZELLIGE, a typically Moroccan decoration. They reproduce the traditional drawings and are shaped as small squares, lozenges or stars cut out in baked clay flagstones enamelled, gathered to make glistering mosaic of endlessly repeated patterns. |
